Doug was born in Vancouver but shortly after his parents, older sister, and two brothers relocated to Prince George. Doug graduated from Prince George Secondary School in 1972. Soon after he started taking on his Business Commerce Degree and graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1979. In the same year that Doug graduated from UBC he also married his wife, Kathy. Kathy and Doug had five years to enjoy each other before they had their first son Darcy and soon after, Tyler, their second son. Doug wasn’t always a Certified Financial Planner. After he received his Business Degree he became a stock broker which lead him to get his life insurance licensing in 1992. After receiving his life insurance license he started working towards and received his CFP designation. Doug continues to grow his business and he thrives on the many challenges of being a financial planner. His main focuses are risk management and retirement planning. He also spends 45 hours or more a year on continuing education and increasing his knowledge in the financial planning industry to better serve his clients. Aside from him growing his business and spending time with his family he lives an extremely balanced and healthy life by partaking in canoeing, biking, hiking, and downhill skiing.
